If you are planning to travel to one of the countries having political unrest you should check with the FCO website to look at whether the British Government is advising against travel to a particular country. If so, then it is probable that your travel insurer will not cover you if you go against this advice. |

The current major street demonstrations have mean that the Foreign and Community Office are advising against travel to Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor and Suez and advise all British nationals currently in these areas to leave by commercial means, though this does not affect transits through Cairo airport, where there may be delays and disruptions to flight schedules. |

As the FCO advises against holiday travel to Tunisia and thousands are repatriated, it appears that tourists seeking North-African sun should, for the time being, look for holidays in Morocco or Egypt. |

The FCO has advised tourists to take particular care when diving or snorkelling in Red Sea resorts after a number of attacks by a shark on divers in the waters off Sharm-el-Sheikh. These kinds of shark attacks in Red Sea are very rare, and this is an unusual occurrence, and it is suggested that a particular oceanic white tip shark rogue shark is to blame. |
