The Geyuan and Heyuan Gardens boast magnificent botanic displays, and at the Narrow West Lake, there are two spectacular historic bridges, the Bridge of the Five Pavilions and the Bridge of the Great Rainbow. The Yangzhou State Guesthouse is a four-star hotel complex situated next to Slender Lake. Golf carts are available to travel around the complex due to its enormity.

It is set in beautiful grounds and is perfectly located for sightseeing around town. Televisions in the rooms offer international channels and the bathrooms are stocked with good-quality toiletries. The five-star Ramada Casa Hotel is centrally located with some rooms overlooking the Grand Canal.

It offers spacious rooms and a comprehensive breakfast at a reasonable price. Alternatively, the Jinling Xihu Hotel is very reasonably priced and even offers a set of basic toiletries in the bedside cabinet of each room. Yangzhou has a steadily increasing number of clubs and bars, including SOS, which is a neon lit dance club with an elevated dance stage.

Also, Banana Night Club has a dance floor that not only lights up but bounces! And they regularly have special offers on bottled drinks. For a quieter time, the Cellar Bar has a welcoming atmosphere and has a great mix of both locals and tourists. Like many cities in China, Yangzhou has many market stalls.

Some of the shopping areas include, Tian Ning Antique Market, Gan Quan Road, and Wenchang Department Stores. It is possible to haggle with stall owners at some markets in the city but expect to pay full price in most shops.
