Newcastle Upon Tyne GuideStag parties also often try to accommodate a trip to St James’ Park to see Newcastle United football club play or take a trip to Newcastle Racecourse which hosts premier international races year round.
Accommodation is plentiful and ranges from budget to expensive, with a large number of comfortable but basic 2-3 star hotels such as Jury’s Inn, Premier Inn, Travelodge and Thistle hotels which are good options for group parties and prices will be from around £50-80 per night. There are a number of 4-star hotels too with average prices from around £70 – 150 per night.
You won’t have to walk far to find a restaurant in Newcastle as it has a thriving restaurant scene catering for all tastes and budgets. There are plenty of cheap Italian and Indian options of £10-15 a head as well as mid-range restaurants at £20-30 per head. A number of more expensive options will be around £40 and upwards per head.
To experience some of Newcastle’s drinking culture and lively nightlife, Central Station and the BrIgg Market areas are popular with young people, stag parties etc, whilst clubbers tend to head to the Quayside and Jesmond areas. If you’re looking for somewhere a bit different then there are some more relaxed pubs and bars around the Ouseburn area. |
