About ManchesterManchester can be found in the south-central part of North West England and unlike some other parts of this region it is landlocked. The city lies in what appears to be a bowl-shaped region that has the Pennines (mountains) to its north and eastern side. Although the city is landlocked it does have a couple of rivers that runs through it, the River Irwell, Medlock and Irk and lastly the River Mersey.
