Manchester has a wealth of places to visit and things to do for instance you could take a trip down to the Gay Village, this area has had a high gay clientele since around 1940’s and it has even got the first ever gay supermarket and hosts the Manchester Pride festival each August. There is also Legoland Discovery Centre and Go Ape which is an adventure park where you can climb into the trees and swing around like Tarzan, however please note there is a minimum age of 10 for this attraction.
You could take a peaceful ride on the East Lancashire Railway or visit Airkix where you can try your hand at indoor sky diving.
For more outside activities visit the Heaton Park which has a pet’s corner, horse riding, boating and a golf course among its arsenal. There is the Manchester Cathedral, Peckforton Castle and the Barrow Bridge Village where you can take a step back in time and see the homes of mill workers and the industrial side of old Manchester.
Hotels in the city start at two stars and include the likes of Ibis Manchester Centre which is less than 800 meters from the two train stations, Piccadilly and Oxford Road.
For three stars you could try the Britannia Hotel which is in a stunning Victorian building and is around 500 meters from the rail stations, there is also the Novotel Manchester Centre which is situated in the city’s Chinatown region. For four stars try The Palace Hotel which is housed in a Grade II listed Victorian building in the city centre or the Mint Hotel Manchester with is directly connected to the Piccadilly train station. Lastly is the five star accommodation of the Radisson Edwardian Manchester which is situated opposite the Bridgewater Hall and Manchester Central.

About ManchesterManchester can be found in the south-central part of North West England and unlike some other parts of this region it is landlocked. The city lies in what appears to be a bowl-shaped region that has the Pennines (mountains) to its north and eastern side. Although the city is landlocked it does have a couple of rivers that runs through it, the River Irwell, Medlock and Irk and lastly the River Mersey.
The average temperature for this city is 13 degrees; summers can see highs of 25 degrees or more while winters can plummet to around 1 degree. The city has a steady rain fall throughout the year with November through to January seeing the highest figures. |
