Bournemouth GuideThe warmer months usually begin around May to June and last to September. The best months of sunshine and warmth come in July and August where temperature can reach anywhere from the mid twenties to the low thirties.
Apart from soaking up the rays on the beach and trawling the seaside shops for trinkets and light refreshments there are plenty of other things to do and see in and around Bournemouth.
The Jurassic Coast is only a short drive from the city and is a place of outstanding natural beauty and if you are lucky you may well discover some fossils as the 95 mile stretch of coastline has plenty of them to spare.
In Bournemouth itself there are a number of must see places such as the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum. A prominent landmark for Bournemouth is its pier and any tourist should make time to indulge in a pier walk, you can start at either one of the cities two piers, walk the distance between them and even stop off at one of the many cafes along the way.
There are water sports to take part in, weather and season permitting, and the coast here is the first in Europe to have an artificial surf reef installed which is pulling in surfer from all over the globe. Any visitor to England simply must get involved with the age old English tradition known as High Tea, after a long morning trek around shops and along the fabulous coastline sit back and relax with some sandwiches and cakes.
The area has plenty to offer in the form of accommodation such as hotels, B&B’s, camping and caravan sites and self catering options.

About BournemouthBournemouth is located on the southern coastline of England and is a large coastal holiday destination. It is the largest city in the county of Dorset and it is situated between Christchurch and Poole and the trio make up the South East Dorset conurbation.
The city centre is further inland even though the area as a whole is on the coast, Bournemouth is east of the famous Jurassic Coast which is a section of untouched coastline about 95 miles in length. From the sea front in Bournemouth you can look out over the sea to the Isle of Wight.
Because of its location Bournemouth has a temperate climate, the summer months in England are shorter than in more Mediterranean settings. |
