What makes this resort unique is that it is the most mountainous region of the entire country, while at the same time enjoying a generous coastline. You can hop on any one of the regularly circulating excursion buses for a scenic tour of the mountains and take in the breath taking view. There are a number of water activities also on offer like snorkeling and swimming around the nearby coral reef.
There is also a museum and fort that can be visited most days of the week.
There is also a large “souk”, or market, located along the Dubai-Fujairah Road that sells things like rugs, antiques, and souvenirs and attracts both locals and tourists alike.
The main option for accommodation here is to stay at a hotel. There is a good range of three to five star hotels for tourists. A couple of the most popular and highly recommended five star hotels here are Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort and Iberotel Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort.
