The sea is clear and calm here and is an ideal spot for snorkelling, however, take beach shoes as it is a mixture of sand and pebbles but it is worth the effort and you might even spot a sea turtle! There are a number of relics worth visiting including the 2500 year old Lelegian ruins, which is an excellently preserved round tomb, overlooking the village. Torba is surrounded by olive groves and scented pine forests with winding paths leading to rural villages and monasteries. As well as stunning natural beauty and ancient ruins, there is a picturesque marina, a number of beach cafes and restaurants serving international and traditional Turkish cuisine and the busy town of Bodrum is only a short 5km Dolmus (small minibus) ride away. There are several all inclusive hotels and traditional Bed & Breakfasts but the 5* Casa Dell' Arte at the far end of Torba beach is a pretty beach hotel surrounded by palm trees and gardens.
It is the lovely unusual art right through this modern hotel which makes this a special place to stay. For a relaxing stay try the Sedative Boutique Hotel & Spa with its private beach and beautifully decorated rooms. With two pools and several small terraces there are a number of peaceful places to sunbath. This is not ideal for children as there are no children’s entertainers or playgrounds but is the perfect couples’s getaway.
