Don’t forget to look out for shops selling Turkish Delight, an ideal souvenir. The Fethiye Museum is full of ancient artifacts dating back to the 5th century BC and although earthquakes destroyed most of the stone sarcophagi from the old town you can still see the dramatic Tomb of Amyntas carved into the sheer rock cliff high above the town. One of the most charming ways to see Fethiye and the bay is by boat trip from Fethiye Harbour and for an enchanted evening, take a moonlight boat trip and see the city under the stars. Five minutes walk from Fethiye is the Caretta Apart Hotel on Calis Beach.
Ideal for families and children, there is the added bonus of being only 500 meters away from the popular Sultan Aqua City Water Park. For the adults, Calis market is 15 minutes walk away or a short Dolmus ride. The Mandarin Boutique Hotel is an excellent contrast if you are looking for intimacy and peace. Try the outdoor hot tub, in the shade of vines for that perfect romantic spot.
