Behind the resort are the more rugged landscapes of the Massif montnegre.
The old town has kept many traditional features which gives it charm and interest in its cobbled streets and conserved ancient watchtowers. These protected against piracy in earlier centuries and two are still open to visitors. Santa Susanna is slightly set away from the busy sea front with all the modern beach facilities and activities including sailing and scuba diving.
If you want to go inland excursions to the national park of the Montnegre area are possible. Here you can do mountain biking, horse riding or just enjoy the beautiful sights of nature.
There’s a framers market every week on a Tuesday morning of you want to sample local produce and in the summer a craft market takes place on a daily basis. August sees the annual festival in honour of the town’s Saint Susanna which allows visitors to take in local folk dancing and songs along with general feasting.
