It’s situated on a broad bay that goes from Pont da Galé to Senhora da Rocha. Its beaches extend from the Fishermans Beach to Salomão beach and include Maré Grande and Beijinhos beaches.
Served by Faro airport, this small fishing town is famed for its beautiful sandy beaches.
The old part of the town has a number of bars and reastuarants which offer the local cuisine, which is noted for its fish dishes.
Tourists can take a boat trip from Armação beach to Cabo Carvoeiro. The journey will take you along the sandstone cliffs with its numerous caves which are thought to be the most beautiful on the Algarve.
Among the local sights and attractions are the Capela da Nossa Senhora da Rocha, a pretty little chapel, a zoomarine park 7 km away with its dolphinarium, sea lions, seals and parrotshow and many other attractions and a big aquapark.
Being in the Algarve, it’s also a great base from which to visit the numerous golf courses in the area. Like most places in Portugal and its regions, there is a wide variety of accommodation available to suit all pockets in Armacao de Pera. The region is popular all year round and there is no part of the year which is “out of season”, making it a popular place for extended winter holidays.
