The area around Stoupa has many fortified towers where people used to live; some are still standing while others are in ruins. Visitors to the town can book in on one of the coach trips that will take them to the ruins of Olympia and the Corinth Canal. Other sites of interest that are within a day trips reach of the town include Sparta, Mystras and Epidauros. There is also the popular Diros Caves to explore.
There are many hiking paths around the town and they are all well signposted. There is a good number of restaurants, taverns and shops in Stoupa. The nightlife here is relaxed although there are a few disco’s. The best bet is to hire a car, that way you can explore more of the surrounding areas where you will find castles, more beaches and quaint villages.
Hotels here include the two star Lefktron Hotel which is only a few steps away from the beach. At three stars there is the Remvi which is about 100 meters from the beach and offers excellently equipped studios and apartments. The Villa Kosta Hotel is another three star offering which is about 50 meters from the beach and is a family run business so it has a very homely and welcoming feel to it.
