In recent years the village has become a tourist’s hotspot thanks to its 3km ‘blue flag’ beach.
The village has many places to eat and various shops to visit, but die to its size there are limited tings to do, although on the beach there is a selection of water sports available for those who have the energy.
In the capital there are a number of museums such as the archaeological museum and the Korgialeneios museum. There is the Venetian castle of St George, the Melissani Lake/Cave is another point of interest and stunning natural beauty.
There is the Drogarati cave, also known as the concert cave. The lighthouse of St Theodoroi is another must see as is De Bosset Bridge.
Although Skala is only a village it has plenty of places to stay such as the stunning four star plus resort of Regina Dell Acqua, it has a boutique feel to it with excellent food and a fabulous pool. If you want direct beach access try the Hotel Makis, it has a generously sized pool, is only a few steps from the heart of the village and has its own terrace that leads onto the beach.
If you want privacy then opt for a villa such as the Paleo Skala Villa, it can sleep up to eight people and has four bathrooms. It has a large private pool and are located just outside of the village in more seclude location.
