The town itself is built up around the small mountain so the roads and streets here can be very steep in places.
As well as the castle there is the 16th century Leimonos Monastery, there is an open air cinema as well as an internet cafe. It is a family friendly area with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants and plenty of places to explore along the cobbled streets and stone built houses. Like many towns and villages on any of the Greek islands there is little nightlife here, so a trip to the capital would be needed if that is what you are looking for, but there are some bars and discos around the town.
The most popular place to stay here is the Sea Horse which looks out over the harbour, every room has cable TV as well as air conditioning and the owner also runs the travel agency next door so day trips are easily booked. There is also the Panselinos Hotel which is about 3km from the town centre but they do provide a bus service. The Sunrise Hotel is less than 400 meters from a pebble beach and the local bars and shops are fairly close by as well.
