Elounda’s famous beach destinations can be found nestled between the villages of Schisma and Plaka and the surrounding hills. Anybody taking a walk up the hills are rewarded with breathtaking views. Aside from the beaches, Elounda has plenty of other attractions including the nearby island of Spinalonga where there is a 17th Century Venitian fort. The nearby village of Krista is also known for its traditional ceramics, weaving and embroidery.
