Punta Cana-Bavaro is the most well known resort in the area with a vast number of rooms available. There are many golf courses to be found, some designed by very well known golfers, Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo to mention a couple. Popular water sports and boat trips are available and lots of scuba diving among the shallow reefs. For sightseeing trips the Basilica Catholic Monument is a wonderful 1960's building, the Indigenous Eye Ecological Park has a wealth of plants and 11 lagoons to take in, the House Museum of Ponce de Leon is a palace built in 1505 by the explorer himself.
Choose from the many restaurants and cafes to experience the local food and drink and in the evening there are plenty of clubs, bars, shows to keep the family entertained. From family friendly hotels to private homes and villas there is a great variety of places to stay. The Tortuga Bay Hotel has great reviews but is quite expensive, the Iberostar Grand Bavaro Hotel is all inclusive with good reviews and great value for money. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana is great for business stays but equally has good reviews and value for money for families.
For guest houses there is the Hotel Flamboyan and Las piedras.
