As a holiday destination it is well known for sun, sea, and sand. The climate is of perfect sunny days throughout most of the year with temperatures rarely falling below 18 degrees Celsius. It is the oldest of the Canary Islands and dates back 20 million years to a volcanic eruption from the Canary hotspot. The island was mostly created about 5 million years ago which has since been eroded by wind and weather.
The very first settlers are believed to originate from North Africa. From modern day discovery and excavation it is believed that they loved in caves and semi subterranean dwellings due to the revealing of relics of early tools and pottery.
If nightlife is a requirement for your holiday the most central of the nightlife scene is based on the resort Corralejo so if you are looking for lively clubs and disco bars this is the resort you will need to stay in as the taxi’s fairs to and from both places can be slightly expensive. That being said the majority of the resorts surrounding the area to have their fare share of bars and clubs.
The food of the area is outstanding it would be hard to find any particular national cuisine not catered for among the vast amount of restaurants. The main dishes you would see on menus would be of sea food all prepared to perfection prepared with local cuisine fresh from the sea waters.
Fuerteventura offers a wide range of activities and sites to see while on holiday. The range is in such a high quantity that you will find your holiday completely loaded with things to do if that was your wish.
The beaches would be the most popular place to be when on holidays a perfect way to relax and soak up the sun, but while visiting the beach there are a number of activities you could possibly consider to take part in while topping up on your tan such as sailing, diving, surfing and much more. The destination is also home to some historic sites, museums and volcanic landscapes. The islands capital Puerto Roario is a beautiful small town with visible Canarian architecture a highly recommended place to visit. And of course shopping is widely available with a range of different shops perfect for fanatic shoppers.
