The Roman Empire fall made Crete fall under the rule of the Byzantine Empire establishing Christianity further. The island of Crete is known to experience very warm summers and mild winters during the summer season temperatures can rise to 30 degrees Celsius by day and 20 degrees Celsius by night. Winter season is expected to be quite mild with some rain showers during the months of October and April.
When choosing which airport to fly to when travelling to Crete there are three different airports to choice from upon research Heraklion Airport would be the recommended choice. It is an international airport being the second busiest in Greece providing a number of transport services to get to your accommodation such as bus, taxi and car hire. There are various different museums, drives and sites to see throughout Crete which are highly recommended. Accommodation is plentiful around the area with various options such as hotels, apartments, villas, rooms, and studio’s to name but a few.
The area is home to a large variety of restaurants when choosing where to dine they cater to many cuisines therefore catering to all tastes. Crete is home to what is said to be the one of the most vibrant night scenes of all the Greek islands. There is a huge variation within the nightlife ranging from British bars, foam parties or a more peaceful traditional evening of Cretan music and dancing. The choice is yours head for the big package holiday centres where party all night is normal or simply choose to stay locally for a sophisticated night scene of the coastal towns.
