The USA is made up of 51 states, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago being the largest. The capital of the USA is Washington DC. America is a nation of immigrants, most Americans' ancestors trace back to another culture such as, Irish, German Italian AND Scottish.

Although the USA does not have an official language English, is spoken by the majority. It also has a strong Spanish influence catering for about 12% of the population. The United States Declaration of Independence was drafted by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 it talks of individual human rights and declares that all men all equal. Americans tend to eat a huge amount of processed food and it is estimated that around 60% of the people are obese; however, regional cuisines such as such cheese steaks from Philadelphia and green chilli stews from New Mexico remind us that the USA still has different culinary traditions.
