Sri Lanka is a small island next to the Southern tip of India and is divided into two regions, the wet zone and the dry zone; it has a population of 20 million. There are the languages used in Sri Lanka, Sinhala, Tamil and English, however, Sinhala is considered the mother tongue. The Sri Lankans are known as the smiling people because they enjoy unique, humble and entertaining lifestyles, which touch the hearts, of many.

Sri Lanka has some of the best examples of architecture and sculpture in South Asia which is apparent in their temples palaces and gardens. Rice and curry are Sri Lanka’s main foods combining flavours such as cumin, cinnamon, coriander, garlic and chillies which when cooked with their local, fresh seafood providing welcoming dishes.
