Saint Lucia has a mixed culture of French and English which is blended with the African. St Lucia has a rich cuisine. The island has fertile volcanic soil which enables them to grow enormous amounts of tropical fruits, including, bananas, pineapples, passion fruit, guavas and coconuts.

These flavours mixed with local, fresh seafood create wonderful tantalizing curries. St Lucia has many festivals, carnivals and music concerts throughout the year which are social events rather than religious, they boast flamboyant costumes, Caribbean and European folk music and erotic dance. English is the official language of St Lucia; Creole which is a form of French dialect is second. Traditions on the island are influenced by Christianity as most of the locals are catholic.
