Barbados is situated in the western Atlantic ocean 100 miles of St Lucia its climate resembles variations from rainforest to semi-desert conditions. Barbados was once a British colony and a member of the commonwealth which is evident in the Anglican churches and English architecture. The lifestyle today of the locals, however, is totally West Indian which is demonstrated in their music, dance and cuisine.

No matter where you are in Barbados you will hear music, whether it be Calypso, R&B or Reggae, music is the Bajans passion and soul. Live music and festivals are in abundance. Barbados has a National dish called Cou Cou and Flying fish. Cou Cou is a combination of cornmeal and okra mixed with salt.

The currency in Barbados is the Barbados Dollar (BDS), however, the American Dollar is also accepted.
